Clarence Darrow:

With all their faults, trade unions have done more for humanity than any other organization of men that ever existed. They have done more for decency, for honesty, for education, for the betterment of the race, for the developing of character in men, than any other association of men.

Wow, what a day yesterday. I marched with 10,000 to 12,000 of my "family" and supporters yesterday, and it was a blessed time. The commraderie was strong. The crowd was in good spirits. After almost and hour and a half of varies speakers the crowd was getting anxious to march. Cheerfully the chanting began "march, march, march". As we march around the the streets surrounding Los Angeles City Hall, we chanted, and laughed, and everyone spoke to everyone. We were one people. Together. It was powerful.
